Book: A Lion Called Christian, by Anthony Bourke

I saw this video today for the first time and I have to admit, it brought tears to my eyes, it's so touching...... I can't wait to read this book.

The story is about two Australian men John and Ace, who bought a lion cub from Harrod's in London in 1969, they raised it,and then took it to be released into the wilds of Africa when they realized that they could no longer keep him. A chance encounter with Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna led to a new life for Christian.

In 1971, he was flown to Kenya and returned to the wild by lion-man George Adamson. Almost a year later in 1972, John and Ace returned to Kenya and it is there where their reunion with Christian took place. They were told that Christian wouldn’t recognize them...watch the video and see what happened!!

Angels & Demons

Robert Langdon is back! This time, he is facing one of the most powerful underground organizations in history, the Illuminati. In Angels & Demons , Langdon must stop the Illuminati from destroying its most hated enemy, the Catholic Church, which they plan to attack at the heart of their most treasured and revered place, Vatican City. Our hero races to Rome to uncover the 400 year old clues and symbols that will help him save the Vatican.

It's directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, and Ewan McGregor.

I read the book by Dan Brown and absolutely loved it. So, I am looking forward to seeing the movie on May 15th. The trailer looks exciting and I hope it won't disappoint.

Now Reading:

If you a trying to understand the financial crisis we are now experiencing there is no better place to start then David Cay Johnston's book, Free Lunch. Written by a former NY Times research journalist who has a gift of narrative along with the facts to back it up. It's the perfect book to give to those good people we all know who doubt that the system is really corrupt.

This book is full of examples that show how the very wealthiest politicians, and corporations, milk the system.

Read it!
